How Dramatool can be used

The Dramatool is an open forum, which is available to anybody who is interested in and works in the area of drama education and performing arts. This forum has got a wide range of uses, not all of which can be adequately enumerated here.

Contact

The site has an inventory of addresses and contacts. These are important to all those who would like to keep in touch with other people and groups within the network.

Discuss

The site also has a forum, which could be used for discussions on topical issues and areas of interest. It is hoped that this kind of discussion has got the potential to reach a wider audience than the conventional discussions which are restricted to only a small group of people within a certain contained context and circle.

Search and Contribute

In the library, there is a provision for presentation of papers, research reports and other materials. Reports about activities that have taken place or are taking place can also be deposited in the library for reference. The site can also be used to announce and publicize on-going events.

The Dramatool hopes to be a center of reference/data base to those who are looking for information regarding certain fields of performance. It is therefore a repository of helpful material that could be used by all those who are interested, and that which could be accessed freely but with the rights of its use being reserved by the author as is indicated in our policy. It is hoped that in the long run, the site shall also have scripts, which could be referred to or even staged with arrangement with the author.

Education

One of the areas where the Dramatool is concerned is education. In this end, there is already a plan to have distance education being conducted through the website. A pilot of the project has already started with practitioners from East Africa, Latin America and Sweden taking a course in intercultural pedagogy. The University of Högskolan Väst, Sweden is at the center of this course. This course is of an exceptional and revolutionary style and will hopefully stimulate many of those who will participate. In due course, the program shall be opened up to a wider population for participation. In this regard, the Dramatool can be used as an educational tool. It therefore becomes a conveyor of education.
