Distance education

Dramatool is made by and for drama/theatre-practitioners and this part of the site will explore how we can learn from each other.

Many possibilities
There are many possibilities - one is just off course looking in the library if there are some material that might be useful for you. Another is that we get together and find more structured ways of exchanging our experiences. By popping in to the e-talk discussion you will able to get in direct contacts.

Combining Film, Drama and IT?
In this process, we can use different techniques, we can use different digital media and develop ways of combining film with the website and of course ways of using our own techniques such as drama, theatre, music and dance in facilitating long distance learning. This is being discussed but not yet elaborated.

A field made for us
In this, we are guided by a number of questions: Is it possible for drama/theatre practitioners in different corners of the world to encourage each other? How do we work towards our vision that is "Empowerment of drama/theatre practitioners through Networking? Is it possible for us to develop a learning laboratory in the field of drama/theatre? How we define distance learning is up to our imagination. The challenge for us will be to find the approaches that fit us practitioners. Most of us are involved in different creative projects; so hopefully that creativity can be transformed into our attempts of finding ways of sharing knowledge.

Sharing in spite of many obstacles
Development of distance learning is becoming even more important since there are so many obstacles in the way of physical meetings. The possibilities you have to be able to share knowledge on an international level varies a lot. Visiting international congresses is one example but even if you have got hold of all the apppropriate information and got funding, there is a growing problem with getting a visa, and this might stop you.

You are the expert
The structure in Dramatool is network based. That means everyone can come up with suggestions on how we can best conduct distance learning. At this point, we would venture to ask: What kind of learning possibilities would you like to see here on the Dramatool web site? What kind of knowledge would be important for you? In what ways can you contribute?
What are the topics that you would like to find more about? Have you come across any good examples that might be usefull for us at the Dramatool? If so, please contact us or jump in to the e-talk discussion.
