"Until the end of summer 2009, we invite you to share with us, each day as it comes, the fascinating enterprise of preparing an event which we want magnificent, the 2nd Pan-African of Algiers. Forty years after the famousPanaf of 1969, Algeria is Back to celebrate the renaissance of the continental culture. Algeria is back! Africa is back too! Algiers will be welcoming from July 5- 20, 2009 all the beauty, the emotion, and the rhythms of the big cultural wealth of our continent which had witnessed the birth of humanity. This second Pan-African cultural festival offers a fresh opportunity to Africa, almost totally freed, at last, from the colonial domination, to show the extraordinary variety of its peoples and their glittering creativity in both cultural and artistic fields (heritage, theatre, music, choreography, cinema, literature, comic strip, visual arts, arts and crafts, etc.). The African Union and the African Governments are already committed and ready for this great event. I invite intellectuals, women and men of culture, along side their contributions and ideas, to join this event which aims, above all, to be a big song of peoples fraternity and of all those who love Africa.
